Google I/O is to kick off today and Google is to announce the next generation of Android, namely Android 12. Following the announcement, we are expecting smartphone manufacturers to list out compatible devices for the first beta and the rollout plan. Realme has been partnering with Google since 2019 for the Android beta updates, and it is no different with Android 12.
There have been reports that the Realme GT will be one of the first few devices from the company to be a part of the Android 12 Developer Preview Program. For now, all we know is that the beta update will be available to users in China soon after Google announces the next generation of Android.
The company also confirms that the Realme GT will get a global release after which Android 12 Beta 1 will be made available for the device. As per Realme, the update (beta) version will be released later this month in the Realme Community, which might also indicate that the device might launch later this month.
The Realme GT 5G features a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a single punch-hole cutout on the left, the screen refreshes at 120Hz and has a peak brightness of 1000nits. The front display is protected by the Corning Gorilla 5. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU and will be available with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The Realme GT runs on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 custom skin out of the box.
